This year, I am the Cross Culture Director at the Wesley Foundation at ATU. It's a really fun thing to do. We hold Bible studies and activities for international students. It's been really neat. We have regulars this semester. Sim helps me out with this.
Today, we carved pumpkins and discusses the "mustard seed" stories in the Bible.
Below is an excerpt from an email I typed up and sent to our director about a meeting a few weeks back.
"...I'm actually home sick today. I've had a fever and bad cough. I think I finally got whatever is going around. I'll try to make the meeting, but I can't make any promises. The fever goes away for a while and then comes back.
This also means that I probably will not be able to meet you again this afternoon at 2:00. I'm sorry it has not been working out lately. I'll just give you the update on here.
Friday, we had only 3 students, but our time was absolutely amazing. We had Vinil from India and then Jean and Liang from Taiwan. We drank hot cocoa as we read about Jesus washing the disciples' feet. The students had heard this story before, so their questions were much deeper than expected. Liang said that she was a Christian already, and Jean is not (yet) but is learning more and more. I'm not sure about Vinil, but he goes to Bible study every Thursday and told me that he has started going to church on Sundays.
Our discussion progressed into why one needs to attend church on Sundays and how often Sim and I attend and also into the concept of, reason for, and methods of baptism.
On Friday, I arrived quite stressed (partially because I was beginning to feel sick), but I left with the amazing feeling that God had allowed me to be a part of something fantastic.
Liang said that this was her first Bible study in America and that she loved it so much that she would definitely be back. She was literally full of praises for Wesley Foundation. I predict that she will be interested in attending more Wesley functions. She mentioned wanting to meet you, too.
This week, we will be carving pumpkins, as none of the students have done that before. Sim and I will meet tomorrow to decide which Bible passage we will study. And, as far as something to eat, the students each have their own ways to prepare the pumpkin "innards", so we will be the ones learning something new in that case."

Very, very, very cool!!!! That is really neat. Well, not the part about you being sick. Sorry about that part. But the rest of it is so wonderful! To allow God to use you, as you are, where you are, is truly wonderful. He can do so much more than we can imagine when we allow Him to work. Thanks for sharing!!!
